You've gotta be joking, ship the chip - damn the OS and apps Shipping the emulator to the Linux community was a stroke of genius. Looks like GCC-x86-64 is already taking shape (How many years did a Merced compiler take to write?). I won't be surprised if we hear of Linux booting on the simulator in a few weeks. Microsoft must be rushing to get a Windows port under way. Nothing like the threat of a flood of cheap, high-performance, Linux-only servers to provide some incentive.
