Re: Not at all, as Itanium doesn't need an emulator. That's because the Itanium isn't a PRODUCT. The Itanium IS the emulator, a very expensive, tardy one at that, for the next-generation EPIC-chip. Intel has already admitted as much. Nevermind that the EPIC architecture itself turns out to be a bad idea 10 years after it was conceived; times have changed, and we need many more web servers than supercomputers crunching the weather forecast. And with Intel desperately trying to up the performance of its 32-bit CPUs to keep up with AMD, the EPIC 64-bit line is going to look even worse by comparison, when they finally manage to ship a product based on it.
