I think you pegged it. TMTA is more hype than substance. The power of the chip so far appears weak & its power saving characteristic doesn't add substantially to a product that brings such poor performance. The trade off simply isn't appealing. AMD's Powernow is more advanced than Intel's. It'll be interesting to compare the 2 (or 3 although I think that so far there's no reason to group TMTA with either AMD or INTC) when AMD releases its higher speed chips. No doubt about it, INTC controls the high end mobile market at the moment. There have been rumors of a greater relationship between AMD & TMTA than TMTA using AMD's LDT. If it's true my guess is some fab sharing because the announcement of the LDT relationship was to be made yet never was. Instead, we learned that TMTA reacquired the rights to manufacture and market x86 compatible products from IBM & Toshiba.

It's interesting to note that the companies who are scheduling a TMTA based product have investments in TMTA. TMTA may very well be a ss but its IPO may be a little too tight to short if there isn't more criticism.
