In '88 I bought a ticket out of the Republican Party with an op-ed piece (the tar and feathers were included gratis). I led off with the thought that is was gut-wrenching that an informed person had to hope for a Bush victory. That the sane would desire -- pray for -- a Bush victory is true again today. If every allegation against GWB is true, he is still the lesser danger. His opponent is a megalomanic psychopath who would destroy what is right with America. The sophomoric nincompoops who think Gore a boy scout probably can't understand, but Virgina Postrel has it covered: reason.com.
