Palms competition use backlighting technique to make the screens brighter. I don't thing color is a major issue at this point in time. color will be a factor later right now the wireless modem speed for pda's is about half that of normal telephone lines, ok for text and voice apps but inadiquate for media rich content like video. palm has immporved color technology but is trying to boost battery recharge cycle time so the new units run as long as current models. There is currently no ruch palms current productline production is sold out
