I played with it some this morning. Here is ISLD using a longer number for x days back. Seems like you can vary the number to fit the volatility you want. The longer the number the smoother your trading will be. More of a general trend is used as the confirmation. The longer the number the less trades you will make and more of them in tune with general trend.

You could also use previous highs, or average of previous closes (I like that idea) or any combo of things.
