Why TELV can not raise any interest from stockholders and general public?
The question is answered by Oracle losing interest in thin clients and PDA in general. WebTV is going nowhere either.
First, PDA is a reduced "information overload" device. Price is too high for the info it gives out. Legacy devices that UPS and other carriers used are not being replaced by PDA. HongKong manufacturer planned 250,000 production run; sold 9,000.
Thin clients will be replaced by thin full service computers when 2.5" hard disks(2-5 gb) will be single headed and single plated for $25 retail. Microsoft system requirement is still 32 mb, 100mhz cpu, 2 gb drives, host controlled v.92 modem, etc.. Thin computer systems will retail below $300 for entry level internet usage. Internet packet transferred is only 2kb. Input devices keyboards, mouses, and video cameras are all slow.
So, what are we to do? TELV is not planned for technology advancement, looking down the path of least resistance? Will thin client devices use cable modem, slow wireless air modem or DSL modem? |
