Hints of excess capacity, declining capex plans, and building push outs confirm a "digestion phase" is underway. · C3Q00 Preview — we expect mild positive EPS surprises, but weakening near-term bookings. Record backlogs provide clear visibility for solid C3Q00 revenue and earnings. Bookings for most back-end semi equipment companies is likely to plateau in C3Q or C4Q00. · Based on our forecast for near-term order weakness, we are lowering targets and earnings forecasts for most of the companies within our universe.
