My mama always told me to pay attention to groups that show increasing relative strength during weak market conditions. On that theory, I offer this bit of evidence.... The Computer-Local Networks group has sprinted to No. 2 out of IBD's 197 industries based on six-months price gains. That's up from No. 172 just six weeks ago. Perhaps the tape is confirming that the infrastructure build out is moving from the long haul portion to the MAN/LAN. Andreas Bechtolsheim finally gets his day in the sun! Me? I believe in the Stupid Network (stupid pipes...ala optics to GigE with a smart edge/IO ). Considering that Andreas B is vp of csco engineering and the Original gigE king, I'm looking to the Cisco content alliance players to see who will value add (via enabling technologies) to the edge of the network.
