Symbol Technologies to Use New Warehouse Management System Powered By E-Stamp's E-Warehouse Technology
Solution Provides Real Time Supply Chain Information; Allows For Visualization, Control and Management of Inventory Across Entire Supply Chain
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Oct. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- E-Stamp Corporation (Nasdaq: ESTM - news), a leading provider of secure Internet-based transactions, and Barcode Systems, Inc., a leading distributor of barcode solutions, today announced that Symbol Technologies, a global leader in wireless and Internet-based mobile data transaction systems and services, has purchased the RF Warehouse 2000 next generation supply chain and warehouse management system, powered by E-Stamp's e-Warehouse technology.

This solution enables Symbol to reduce costs, streamline operations and speed delivery of repaired scanners and related repairs to their customers. Barcode Systems will provide the implementation, integration and support for the Symbol rollout. Because of the successful implementation of the product in their Boise Parts Distribution Center, Symbol is already planning to integrate the same system in their new repair center in Costa Mesa.

``We've integrated the E-Stamp-powered Windows-based product into our centralized warehouse in Boise, Idaho to automate and streamline our parts repair operation,'' said Matthew Wenzel, Symbol Technologies Sr. Manager of Western Area Customer Service. ``This system should help us provide better service to our most important customers.''

e-Warehouse technology enables Symbol to automate and manage its inventory by tracking it by SKU, location or container as well as electronically logs merchandise into the warehouse.

Symbol also plans to utilize E-Stamp's new web-based Enterprise Partner Management (EPM) module to manage, in real time via the Internet, their inventory of thousands of scanner-related products. This new system is an add-on to the e-Warehouse technology that allows the functionality of the Windows-based system to be deployed over the Internet.

For instance, by using the web-based system, Symbol will be able to share information with its customers, Fortune 1000 companies, in real time. Customers can also log on to the Internet to view accurate and complete information on inventory status, to create orders and to track shipping and receiving.

``Symbol is our first customer to take advantage of the newly expanded Internet-enabled e-Warehouse technology,'' says Robert (Bo) Ewald, president and CEO of E-Stamp. ``By working with Barcode Systems, this implementation is a prime example of the way in which E-Stamp has leveraged its technology into strategic new markets. e-Warehouse customers are now able to order, track and view critical supply chain information in real time, over the Internet.''
