Mike,

When you ask your vendor to certify the compability of RAM for 83Mhz bus speed purpose, you have to ask them to use Cyrix 6x86 instead of using Pentium for test.

Under the same 83Mhz bus speed, Cyrix 6x86 push the RAM speed almost twice as fast as a Pentium (that's why Cyrix 6x86-P166+ is faster than a Pentium 200 for daily works and internet browers). I have experienced that 60ns FP/EDO could work under Pentium 208 (83*2.5) on Asus T2P4 and could not work under Cyrix 6x86-166Mhz (83*2) since 6x86 taxes harder than the weak Pentium!

Fuchi ... who loves Cyrix's innovations

p.s. If the vendor has difficulties to get a 6x86-166Mhz to test. K6-166Mhz (83 x 2) is just as good for this purpose.
