NEW YORK -- Money has been flowing out of Nasdaq stocks, and though buyers have done some nibbling here and there, there's been no leadership and no conviction, said market strategist Laszlo Birinyi, of Birinyi Associates.

"I think investors are continuously nervous, and analysts at this point are articulating a very negative picture, which actually might be a little bit of a good thing," Birinyi said in a CNBC interview Tuesday.

Birinyi noted that the semiconductor industry is seeing its greatest correction since 1974, which makes it "a very good place to be looking for ideas in stocks if you're not going to worry about it for the rest of the year."

He also said he believes the market is poised for a rally from "grossly oversold" conditions, and suggested investors consider Micron Technology Inc. (MU), Corning Inc. (GLW), Haliburton Co. (HAL) and Eli Lilly & Co. (LLY).
