QUALCOMM Becomes Latest SkyBridge Partner and Shareholder

BETHESDA, Md., Oct 17, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- SkyBridge LP and QUALCOMM
Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM) announced today that QUALCOMM has become a SkyBridge
shareholder and limited partner.

"We are delighted to welcome QUALCOMM to the SkyBridge partnership," said
Pascale Sourisse, SkyBridge President and CEO. "SkyBridge will now have access
to important QUALCOMM Intellectual Property and can benefit from the company's
satellite telecommunications experience. SkyBridge's industrial partners will be
able to enter into licenses with QUALCOMM for its Code Division Multiple Access
(CDMA) technology for use in both user terminals and gateways. Use of QUALCOMM's
CDMA technology can provide significant cost advantages in the development of
the SkyBridge system."
