New Tech Winners Are as Hot as Ever
By James J. Cramer

The banks say yes, but the SOX says no. I think you need both before you get a real rally.

But one thing's certain: Old tech means nothing to new tech. The more that old tech gets hammered, the more that the market embraces new tech. The new horsemen: EMC (EMC:NYSE) , Sun Microsystems (SUNW:Nasdaq) Cisco (CSCO:Nasdaq) and Oracle (ORCL:Nasdaq) have never been more powerful. To me that makes sense. In a universe where very few companies are doing well, we will pay an ever-increasing amount for the good ones.

And don't I know it. We own shares in the handful of good ones left because, well, what the heck else are we going to own? Yes, that's how investment decisions are being made all over the U.S. these days. And we are no different.

Random musings: So Fortune says I am giving up on the site. Funny, they sure got that wrong. I am writing more than ever. I am more involved in trying to turn this product into greatness than ever. It is true that I am not in day-to-day management, but that's because I don't have to be -- we have terrific day-to-day management.

My conclusion: Don't believe everything you read in the papers. I am furious about this story and I love Fortune. They have never gotten anything wrong that I have said before. Not only am I not going anywhere, I am all fired up to get back to television in three weeks to help the cause. And it will make a difference. My apologies to anybody who thinks I am giving up. I have never sold a share of TheStreet.com (TSCM:Nasdaq) and believe in it with all my heart and soul. I am a straight-enough shooter to be realistic that we have let people down on a stock basis and I feel terrible about that. But I will never give up on TheStreet.com the company.

Never.
