Robert, HAND held up well today and earnings report looks very good. Ed Colligan, Co-Founder of HAND was interviewed on CNNfn today:
<Mr. Colligan appeared on CNNfn's Digital Jam segment to discuss their two new products: the Prism, which features an upgraded processor and 16 bit color screen. It will compete directly with PALM's 3c and is priced at 449.00
HAND also debuted a black and white version which shares the upgraded processor, called the Platinum. It competes with PALM's Vx, retails for roughly 299 and will be available in Nov
The Prism has beautiful photographic color
Now users really can carry around images of family, etc
In addition, it contains GPS, MP3, gaming, etc via the springboard slot
A great gift for Xmas
For someone who is a demanding user, wanting to use multi-media applications
One thing that they bring to the party is it already contains a springboard expansion slot allowing you to add additional functionality
The other big application is adding digital images from your digital camera
They have over 450 developers now that supports their platform, growing amazingly quickly
On CPQ's iPAQ:
HAND's product is 50.00 cheaper
If you use the CPQ device you have to run Windows CE
Found the PALM OS to be a much nicer OS and the applications are much nicer, broader application support
The CPQ devices don't have the springboard slot, can't take advantage of the visor phone, GPS, etc> |
