Yep, these guys all seem to have their bowels in an uproar because Intel provided such a wide span in their guidance.

8% ($9.4B) would be spot on to expectations. I don't think Intel is being "overly cautious". Rather, I think they are trying to avoid a replay of the "warning that wasn"t" that they felt obligated to give at the end of 3Q. Then a combination of events transpired to allow Intel to post a good quarter. My guess is that other geographies helped pick up the slack. Also, Europe had a good quarter ... just not the huge blow-out that Intel had predicted earlier.

This is not being "overly cautious". Rather, it is being reasonably prudent.
