Two articles of interest:

cabledatacomnews.com
cabledatacomnews.com

"Cable operators' ultimate vision is to deliver a two-way Internet service to TVs over upgraded cable plant with downstream speeds ranging from 100 Kbps to 10 Mbps. The service would provide cable modem-like performance for less than $10 per month and no box for the consumer to buy."

$10/month, push technology! Let's face it; the internet now is the hobby of an elite culture for the active exchange of information and ideas. That hopefully won't change. But cable operators would love to "push" it to the trailer trash set so couch potatoes can passively surf the content provided c/o their advertisers. This is their killer application!
