newspage.com Constellation Communications Inc. proceeding with their 12 satellites around the equator low earth orbit cellphone system. Eventually they plan to provide worldwide coverage. CCI shareholders include Bell Atlantic, Space Vest and Raytheon E-systems. Northern Telecom, Texas Instruments, and others are contractors. Competition for Globalstar continues to develop. This contract announcement is for gateway earth stations over the next three years. So operation is at least 3 or 4 years away.
