Aloha GV,

Re : "Intel spent $1 billion to repurchase just 14.3mm shares. That's $70/share. The short puts are gonna come back and bite a lot of these companies. "

There was an article last weekend in San Jose Mercury News about how a lot of big companies make lots of $$$ writing puts. However, when the stock goes down, like it has, they end up having to buy their own stock back at a much higher price. They gave a couple of examples about companies that will lose a lost of cash. However, it also mentioned that Intel (according to their filing) was not one of these company. (earlier in the article, it mentioned that Intel has made a lot of money writing puts).

Does anyone have a link to the Mercury News article ? This information is in contrast to your post. Does anyone have an idea how to find the correct info ?

Thanks.
Maui.
