My tax write-offs are not the issue. But I have said if I'm doing well I am happy to pay a little more to keep LA from rioting, crime low, the environment cleaner, people better educated and pay down the national debt. Afterall it's our debt and our responsibility. I also don't want to see Bill Gates and Larry Ellison get a tax-break (even though the recent sell-off cost them a few billion). The US still has the lowest tax rate for the wealthy amongst industrialized nations. That's why they stay here and come here from all around the world.
