But when you have someone who is rude and obnoxious, you've got to stand your ground.

Just like when you were a kid and the bully started in on you. Any kid sees from example that you can't show a sign of weakness in the presence of a bully.

One sign of weakness, and he was all over you. But if you stood up to him and put him in his place, he never bothered with you because you weren't a weakling then.

Bully's pick weaklings, they never pick on someone their own size.

Bush missed a few opportunities to capitalize on Gore's ego, but he hesitated out of respect for the proceedings. Respect be da-ned, Bush should have taken off the gloves (figuratively).

And Jim Lehrer is a weakling. Gore walked all over him. Bush has been the perfect gentleman, and he should have insisted on another moderator after the first debate.
