Besides, do you consider the service that you get for your current broadcast cable to be reliable? do you think that the reliability will get any better when data services are offered? Personally, I think that it is a huge cultural issue (at the cable service providers).

This connection would need to be as reliable as your current telephone. When you pick up the handset, you expect dialtone. That is the single biggest problem that I see with cable solutions. Satellite, I'll have to think about a little. But I am not convinced that you can get a wide deployment of symmetrical broadband over satellite links.

At least not at the data rates that we are talking about with FTTH or even cable.
