Sounds like the opposite to me. Stockpiling is done by a user who is afraid of running out of supplies. Channel stuffing is done by a supplier who is afraid of not making the numbers.

But in a slowdown the effect on the component supplier would be the same in both accounts. Your point is well taken, though, and is probably the most likely explanation.

Of course, no one is saying that there will be a slowdown anytime soon. I'm just trying to flesh out the possibilities.
