By 1932 Versailles was a dead issue. It had been modified by the Rapallo Treaty and the Germany Army (forbidden an air force and tanks) had been training and designing with the Soviets (one of the reason Stalin in 1936 was able to accuse Red Army leaders of treasonable connections with Germany). The Germans had reoccupied the Rheinland without the French firing a single shot (the Germans had been ordered to retreat if there was any resistance).
The Americans were lending millions to Germany (Dawes Plan) so the Germans could pay reparations to France and Britain and the Allies could repay debts to the Americans. US cutting off these loans it contributed to depression in Germany. Hitler's first five years were an economic miracle. He built the world's largest and best airforce, armored units, and what turned out to be, man for man, the best large army in history. He created full employment. I don't imagine there were any polls, (Gallup was just getting started in the US) be Hitler had enormous popularity largely because there were few sacrifices to build a world power for most Germans. Too bad for the Jews and Communists. Meanwhile, every other country was struggling with unemployment and poverty and lack the wits to follow Hitler's massive public spending and managed trade. The U.S., for instance, believed itself too poor to build a modern fleet and effective fighter planes.
