Here is what I have on SUNW from briefing.com:

12:22 ET Sun Microsystems (SUNW) 117 7/8 +6 1/2: -- Update -- Some disagreement about the implications of an 88% increase in EPS. We said $0.32 was implied earlier, but that involved some rounding with last year's number. Using the raw numbers, we get about 30.7 cents, which would round up to 31 cents. Some brokerage firms are saying 30 cents is the number, however. In either case, it is substantially above the $0.25 estimate, as is the implied revenue number. Still no word from Sun.

12:19 ET Sun Microsystems (SUNW) 117 7/8 +6 1/2 (+5.8%): -- Update -- After vertical move on reports of a possible premature release of earnings, stock has been halted.

12:08 ET Sun Microsystems (SUNW) 117 5/8 +6 1/4: -- Update -- Finally got through to someone in Sun investor relations, who said "no comment." We therefore still have no confirmation that the numbers on the Sun website are correct, but clearly the market believes they are.

11:52 ET Sun Microsystems (SUNW) 113 5/8 +2 1/4: Novellus redux? Sun appears to have posted a headline for tonight's earnings release on its site. The headline reads: "Sun Microsystems Reports EPS Up 88% In Record First Quarter. First Quarter Net Income Grew 85% On Revenue Growth Of 60%". If these numbers are correct, they would imply EPS of $0.32 relative to estimates of $0.25, and revenue of approximately just over $5.0 bln relative to estimates of $4.4-4.5 bln. Those EPS and revenue numbers are our calculations based on the stated growth rates in the headline, we cannot speak to the accuracy of the headline on the Sun website, however.
