Hi Cos
"I'm sure that Greg will find that disturbing. Doesn't mean I don't talk about consequences or harm or morality because those are much closer to being Universal and they don't have all the baggage."
I don't find that shocking at all. Just irrational, and inconsistent, since by your own admission you don't go through life, amorally. Everyone on this thread (With the possible exception of the perv, and you know who you are;), it seems to me are just regular folks. The question is not whether we can have morality without God, if you define morality as being a self imposed code of some kind. The question is, If God does not in fact exist, then how do we determine what is right and wrong in the context of society? In other words, if we took a vote, and it was deceided to kill all homosexuals, would that be right? What about Jews, or Christians, or moral relativists for that matter?
I think that the fact that humans are even bothered by such questions, is a strong indication that there is a standard somewhere that we all operate with. I say it's more logical to believe the explanation, that we are made in the image of a moral God, than to believe that we are just like that. How do you explain it?
