Gore lowers the deficit. Bush puts us deeper in debt.

Gore's new spending program will not lower the debt. If Gore is lucky and become president and then has 4 years of strong economic growth, the deficit may go down while he is in office, but his plans will decrease the amount that the deficit will go down compared to if no changes where made. If Gore is not so lucky and growth does not meet his estimates, then the deficit will go up during his 4 years.
Also the new spending programs will make it harder to have low or zero deficits in the future.
