Just talked to my friend in Houston. She was coughing from thre bad air. She runs a non-profit group which fights drug-use amongst teens and health care problems. She confirms the troubles there and rising statistics. The figures posted were official stats just re-printed. They are undeniable. Bush is in trouble on drugs, crime, guns, environment, education, prescription drugs and health care. It was also wrong what he did promising the killers of Byrd will all be put to death. They have not yet been sentenced and his statements could get them a mis-trial. Meanwhile his cold rejection of hate crime law or even sympathy for the family will have a chilling effect on minority voters. What you can get away with in Texas you can't get away with nationally. That is something GW is going to learn fast.
