A lot of analysts have guaranteed contracts so it doesn't matter what they do.


With that short term thought, I nominate you as a mutual fund portfolio manager.

There's always next year's contract, this year's bonus, and, lucrative offers from other SellSide or BuySide institutions.

Don't kid yourself. They're playing a game which benefits only the analysts themselves and their employers, not the individual investor hoping to get a freebie investment insight.
