I blame our profession in not being more proactive in helping to define in a manner, much less political, the stages of development of a human life..when organs are formed, when the brain is formed, when a nervous system is formed, when we can assign those unalienable rights to a developing human being...it's a tough issue, which unfortunately has been politicized,

The first few questions, "when the organs are formed" ect., are medical questions. Questions about when to assign what rights to who are always political (although in some cases they are matters where there is a political concensus).
