Neo, I'd like to commend you for injecting serious content -- and civility -- on this board.

In the Coase interview, he noted that he'd started a socialist. That is not uncommon.

Even some of the most seriously deluded hereabouts have a passionate interest in politics, and are not necessarily stupid. What you've posted may provide the spark to help a few understand that the conclusions of economics are indeed, largely counterintuitive. The wheels grind slowly, but eventually some will recall their support of the psychopath Gore with embarrassment. They'll eventually realize that:

Limbaugh is at least a crude filter for serious thought.

Gail Sheehy and Molly Ivins ain't.

Government interference almost always leads to impediment or reversal of desirable trends that were in place before the busybodies poked in their snouts.

A good start in making prescriptions drugs more available would be to severely curtail, better abolish, the FDA.

A better solution to medical care in general would remove the government from any role therein, other than as night watchman.
