I do not understand why there is a belief that Nokia is having inordinate trouble introducing its GPRS phones when the 6210 has been very well received and is now shipping in volume. It is currently the best selling GPRS phone worldwide.
The 6210 isn't a GPRS phone. It supports HSCSD, but not GPRS:

Ericsson, on the other hand, has announced two GPRS models, one of which also has Bluetooth support (click on the link for the R520):

Also, while it's definitely possible that Nokia bought out a ton of DSPs from TI in advance, leading to the latter's earnings warning, TI's wireless revenue growth for this quarter was only 37%, which isn't bad, but you'd figure that it'd be more if their customers were stockpiling DSPs in advance so much that they don't need to buy too many more for the biggest quarter of the year.
Still, I'd agree that if Nokia has bad news to deliver, it wouldn't make much sense for them to push up their earnings release date by a week.
