David,
I'm certain you are correct in observing that Gore is a much more polished and professional politician than G W Bush. Probably exceeds him in a number of areas taken from the Politician's guide book. Do I think G W Bush is the best apple from the tree?... Hell no! I think we have many others that could have been better at making Gore look like the pompous, self righteous, egotistical Jesus Christ that he thinks he is. In spite of that which Bush may lack, the thought of a person like Al Gore as my president sends shivers of revulsion through my whole body. Al Gore is the poster child for everything I find offensive about about politics and the Democratic party in particular. The party thrives on negativity, divisiveness and victim mentality which they encourage and foster. Then they can step up to be everybody's daddy, shepherd and savior whether they need it or not. In the process they pander to the increased dependency they so aptly create through the piling of taxes, regulations and bungling bureaucracy they so freely lavish on average citizens. The average citizen who just wants to go to work in the morning, then come home and enjoy his or her family without the intrusion of some self righteous bureaucrat at every step of the way.
I heard Gore say over and over he would fight for us. Trillions of dollars and more than 30 years of Democrats later why does there still need to be a fight. Because the Democrats in their repetitive blindness keep creating more of that which they claim to fight. Some legacy they've had for the last half of the past century. Thanks to LBJ and his Democratic Congress, the country was dragged through the mire of Vietnam war at cost of billions and the divided, trampled lives of at least three generations of Americans. A cost we are still paying for today. Prior to that war there was no inflation, little national debt and low taxes. When the so called Great Society was thrown in the mix it insured a continuing spiral of inflation, taxes and a burgeoning national debt. Prior to the excesses of Socialized medicine the average person could afford most minimal health care without insurance or insurance was reasonable. Today a simple Doctor visit will cost $75-100 and an unsubsidized family of three will pay $350 a month for insurance and have a $2,500 yearly deductible and not dare be without it if they own anything.
The Democrats create the sinkhole, then chauvinistically offer to pull you out. Well no thanks, I'll take Bush with all his failings and perhaps there will be a few less sinkholes to deal with.
