Essam; A deal was on its way with Barrick and BRE-X, but it stalled because there was no permitted due diligence permitted by BRE-X prior to an irrevocable commitment.B would not commit to this. They would have had effective control as the Govt etc were to remain quiescent.This was also a Barrick sticking point, as they usually operate with control. The later deal forced by the Indos did include a DD for freeport and that was when the cat was debagged.
B was wise, no 'pigs in pokes' bought here, said Munk. Not luck, just perspicacity.
