RE: "Does anybody think MSFT's results bode well for INTC? Why? "

Hi Techtonicbull,

I think the key things for Intel are:

+ 40+% growth for Intel Servers
+ 50+% growth for Intel nw comms

About MSFT, the W2k revenue growth reminds me of the initial NT deployments. It took awhile (which was the point of my other post about the 9 or 5% growth), but it'll eventually happen. i.e. Anyone remember (edit: how powerful) Novell was?

I'm more keen on INTC than MSFT (as a LT investor), namely because Intel doesn't have to compete with shareware chips and Intel seems to be better at avoiding anti-trust issues. Also, Intel's fabs are a powerful barrier-to-entry and make Intel very powerful.

Sort of off-topic to this question, but speaking about fabs, I took a look at STM and it rather appears STM can't feed their growth right now (I'm assuming - maybe incorrectly- this is why STM is seeking to raise $1B to $1.5B- is to build fabs?), even though they are growing extremely well. This is another reason why I like Intel - Intel has enough fab capacity - which means they won't lose market share in a fast growing market due to constrained capacity. I believe this might be something AMD may have an issue with at some point too.

Regards,
Amy J
