Yes, I can follow that line. Oddly, I was in central Ontario last August and wanted to die, I was helicoptered out to a hospital. I survived, obviously. I am 48.

A week after I returned my brother who at 68 was a health fanatic, died.

My father died in front of me (figuratively speaking), my father-in-law died just before my 11 year old was born. My 97 year old mother is dying, my mother in law is terminal as well.

I appreciate what you are trying to put across. Believe me, I do not take death lightly. Any remarks I make that may sound flippant are not intended to disrespect anyone's state at all. Perhaps the casual remarks I make are rooted in the spirit of the fatalistic Irish heritage. Maybe so, maybe not; my remarks are generally tempered with black humor and I do not take myself seriously in the slightest.

So if I offended you with the obtuse remark, I apologize. It was not meant to be taken as a serious statement.
