If SPEC numbers summarized processor performance the PIII would ALWAYS be faster than the Athlon at the same speed. You and I know this is NOT true. "You're the one who posted those numbers, not me, not Intel. And if those numbers are correct, they're outstanding." Yes, they're outstanding for SPEC scores. Paraphrasing Scumbria, how many times do you run SPEC a day? To clarify, I'm not saying SPEC scores aren't good indicators of performance, I'm saying one can't come to a FINAL conclusion about desktop processors JUST by looking at the scores. "Now just imagine if they're conservative....." I've thought about that too...
