660,000 people have been killed by guns in the US since John Lennon was murdered.

Everytime I read statistics like this I'm reminded of two things. Over 50% of gun deaths are suicides and what a violent society we live in. A reasonable man would want to protect himself. Too bad that is not possible in some cities like New York and Chicago for the most part.

In Dodge City, Kan., you can walk into a pawn shop with a Kansas driver’s license and money and walk out with any and as many guns
as you want. Dodge City has had one murder in the past 20 months.

20 percent of U.S. homicides occur in four cities with
just 6 percent of the population - New York, Chicago,
Detroit and Washington, D.C. - and each has a virtual
prohibition on private handguns.
