Nokia is the market's knight in shining armor. It is making everyone feel terrific today. Amazing. Nokia and AOL are winners, in a sea of despair of their two industries.
-Cramer TheStreet.com

Nokia's operating profit margin for mobile phones was 19.6% vs. 21.9% a year ago, and that's in a bad quarter.
(Nokia buys aggressively marketshare, it has flexibility to adjust prices and eat all suffering Ericssons out of space)

Jorma the King of ostrabottina,
said that the new phones only began to affect profitability toward the end of the Q. Just imagine what their full impact on 4Q will be with margins probably at new high levels. 4Q is going to rock!

This was a spectacular result, clearly above forecasts, and it shows that Nokia took a lot of market share in Q3, and it will take more market share in the fourth quarter,''
said Mika Paloranta, analyst at Aros.

This is a totally different story from anyone else in the sector... problems with the others in the sector are clearly specific just to them,'' he said.
