Limtex, as I understand it, the card remembers a credit card number or other identification and when copying, looks for that number. If it doesn't see that identifier, it will not send the file to another destination. The actual mechanism is for doing this is part of what constitutes the "secure digital" feature. It means that making an exact copy of a file can only be done with prior authorization, either through a credit card account or some other mechanism. It makes illegal copying difficult enough to protect the copyright owners, and therefore makes the SD card attractive to those who wish to avoid litigation over copyright infringement. A good selling point, I would think.
