The value placed on reserves is variable and not fixed. At the present time, reserves are being valued down which is evident in the share price of the producers. With the mystique of gold in ruins, the producers themselves are being priced in a similar way as any other commodity producer, which suggests the downside in the xau is not over. The future, anything short of panic in the street, is not going to change the valuation in the producers. Consequently a rise in the pog to over 290 may result in the xau rising to the 60's. Extrapolate those numbers to individual stocks and you have a much lower trading range for the gold stocks.
