Maybe I'm ahead of the curve here with this IP thing. The dynamic I see is software from service providers and software from hardware manufacturers. Both of those things dilute perceived value. H/W manufacturers are paying lots of independent programmers to write free software nowadays. MS is going the way of the record companies as the consumer and the creator *both seek to cut out the middle man and his 'choke points'. That's actual innovation. (IMO) -JCJ
