With IDCC's help Nokia has.......added another year to its estimated time to shipment WCDMA phones! Put those engineers to work, boys! ROTFLMAO.

HELSINKI, Oct 19 (Reuters) - Finnish Nokia Oyj Abp <NOK1V.HE> <NOK.N>, the world's largest mobile phone maker, said on Thursday it expected high-speed Internet third-generation handsets on the market in volumes in the first half of 2002.

"In terms of Wideband CDMA (WCDMA) handsets...test phones will be out by end of next year, but in volumes in the first half of 2002," Chief Executive Jorma Ollila said in a conference call.

WCDMA mobile phone technology is the main third-generation (3G) standard which will allow customers to receive and send high speed data transmissions via their mobile phones, and aims to offer moving images, video-on-demand and always-on Internet connections.
