VERITAS Software Promotes Solutions for Exchange With Stock Incentive Program Stock Up on VERITAS Channel Promotion Creates Awareness of VERITAS Solutions For Microsoft(R) Exchange
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Oct 19, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- VERITAS Software Corporation (Nasdaq: VRTS), The Data Availability Company, today announced its latest channel-wide promotional campaign, Stock Up On VERITAS. In response to growing Exchange Server needs, the promotion is intended to provide incentive for the channel to bring the value of VERITAS Software's complete family of solutions for Microsoft Exchange to the end-user community. Stock Up On VERITAS specifically targets all North American resellers, corporate end users, national reseller organizations, direct solutions marketers (DSMs) and distributors. By selling select VERITAS Software products between October 2 and December 29, 2000, participants have the opportunity to receive the cash equivalent of VERITAS Software stock at the close of the program.

Stock Up On VERITAS Promotion
Stock Up On VERITAS is a multi-pronged campaign featuring VERITAS Solutions for Microsoft Exchange. Through the incentive-based program, VERITAS Software expects to leverage its broad sales channel to educate end users on the
extensive offering of VERITAS Software solutions that directly address the increased requirements of Exchange Servers.
Within the promotion, point values have been assigned to every eligible VERITAS Software solution. As products are registered, designated points will accumulate for both the reseller and the end user until the end of the promotion. At the conclusion of the promotion, the cash equivalent of one share of VERITAS Software stock will be awarded for each unit of 200 points earned.
