Los Angeles Stars, New ABA2000 Professional Basketball Team, To Host Local Cheerleader Tryouts, Nov. 5 The Los Angeles Stars of the new ABA 2000 men's professional basketball league will be holding tryouts for the 2000-2001 cheerleading squad, the "Starlettes," on Sunday, Nov. 5, at 1 p.m., at the Great Western Forum in Inglewood, Calif., it was announced today. The old ABA of the 1960s was famous for having the most beautiful line-up of cheerleaders in professional sports, including the legendary squad in Miami,
the Gator Girls, who cheered on the ABA's Floridians while clad in bikini-style costumes. As Los Angeles Stars "Starlettes," the squad of 14 cheerleaders will represent the team at all home games as well as at promotional events
throughout Southern California. The "Starlettes" will perform pre-game and half-times shows as well as
during the game and help bring excitement back to the legendary Forum basketball court.
