Hi John, re: numbers in the earnings report You are correct that these numbers are interesting and investors and Intel need to keep track of how these investments are doing. However keep in mind that these are, first and foremost, strategic investments. The first metric is how do these investments further Intel's goals of enriching the computing experience (requiring more processing power) and growth into new areas such as servers, networking, communications, etc. The second metric (still important) is short-term contribution to the bottom line.
