For example with my Lexar card, for $10 they sent me a slick little USB card reader...

Steve, are you talking about the bundled card with your Nikon purchase
or did you buy a Lexar card in addition to your 128 MB SanDisk card?

Just curious.

BTW, there is a full-page color ad for SanDisk in this month's PhotoPC Magazine. Sony is adopting the AOL strategy. They have an ad for their CD-R Mavica with a cardboard insert of the camera stapled into the spine of the magazine and a 3" trial CD-ROM glued to the back. When you flip the card over it looks like your are actually taking the CD right out of the back of the cardboard camera.

I plugged it into my PC and there is a Macromedia Flash intro as the disc spins up, then there is a single page of thumbnails with family photos. My PC would not read the photos because the glue used to affix the CD made it unreadable.

Looks like Sony spent a pretty penny on this promo.
