tech, It is proper to apply normal fincial ratio analysis to established mature companies. Palm is in it's infantcy.
Applying financial ratios is like comparing physical capabilites of a man to a small boy. What important for Palm is to 1. make a profit 2. show growth. The profit is the food to spur the growth. The technology it possesses is it's gene pool.
