this isn't right mighty. you don't ramp up SoC ASIC software design specialists. they're already "ramped up." they're much too specialized to need extensive "ramping". 80% of these hires came on in January through March; many were already working on SoC designs at other firms. some from Q, Lucent, and Iridium. we're talking about designing and testing different combined formats. these hires weren't Q rejects either as some have hypothisized. i know of at least two that Q certainly didn't want to lose. personality conflicts abound everywhere.

the only question is why IDCC IR waited until Oct to release the news. I guess they thought releasing "60 new engineers" looked better than "50 new engineers". IDCC has also retained 100% of their free-lance engineering design personnel. nearly all hires were done on as "as needed" basis per the design requests they've been receiving. they hadto delay some business requests in early April due to staff shortages (per MG)

if you want to find fault, check in with IDCC IR, not the ramping and hiring process
