That's true, my thinking at the time about opportunism was overly simplistic. To me then it all seemed so coincidental. But then my thinking was more disciplined having only recently been discharged from the Marines. I also had not taken part in the Vietnam war. I just kept thinking what a terrible waste it all was.

It takes a real heinous individual to abuse small children and turn fire hoses on little old ladies on their way to church. In retrospect if I were a young impassioned minority seeing those things take place against my people I might.......

I suppose that's one of the problems I have with the so called "Hate crime laws". I don't see people who are that hate filled, mindless and heinous enough to commit those types of crime being deterred by some addendum to a law Time will tell.
